HOW DO WE LIVE A HOLY LIFE?
 OBEDIENCE AND GUIDANCE
(please have Bible handy so you can look up verses listed)
Living a Holy life is difficult in the world of today but the LORD has provided special instructions to help and strengthen us.  The two key words here are OBEDIENCE and GUIDANCE.  If we would only abide by these "two instrucions",  how much easier life would be for us!

Water baptism IN THE NAME OF JESUS is required of born-again believers.  Please turn to               Acts 2:38. Notice the verse specically says,"IN THE NAME OF JESUS".

Water baptism is done by total immersion.  This means being put completly under the water and brought back up.  JESUS was baptized in water so we are to follow His example.

"And JESUS, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heaven's were opened unto him,  and  he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him."  Matthew 3:16.
Notice the small "h" in the verse.  This refers to John the Baptist who baptized JESUS.  When we are put under the water, we are burying the old sinful man.  When we are brought up out of the water, we are resurrected from death unto a new life in JESUS CHRIST.   P lease read Romans 6:4 about this.

JESUS told His followers, when He was gone from this earth, He would send the COMFORTER to
help guide and teach us.  The COMFORTER is the HOLY GHOST or SPIRIT of GOD.

John 14: 26 and John 16: 13

The HOLY SPIRIT  is a special gift given by GOD.  We are to be indwelled or filled with the HOLY SPIRIT.  This means a portion of GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT actually enters our bodies and resides there.  The COMFORTER (HOLY GHOST OR SPIRIT) is always with us!  You can have a precious part of GOD with you all the time!  What a wonderful gift!  Read Acts 2:38.

When the HOLY SPIRIT indwells or fills our bodies, we speak in other tongues or laguages. This is evidence or proof to others and ourselves that we have received the HOLY SPIRIT.  We call this spiritual experience the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT.  Acts 2: 4.

We may speak in a tongue or language known to man or in a tongue or language only GOD knows. Being baptized in water the HOLY SPIRIT is a requirement of the LORD!

"JESUS answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the SPIRIT,  he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD."  John 3:5.

We cannot begin  to live a Holy life without these two essential requirements.  If we love the LORD, we will OBEY His commandments about baptism of water and of the SPIRIT. The gift of the HOLY SPIRIT should be greatly desired and prized by born-again believers, regardless of denomination.        A promise for all believers!  Read the promise in  Acts 2: 39.
